At 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, the name says it all: customizable pizza cooked at a scorching temperature that’s ready to eat in two minutes.
The first San Antonio location of the blossoming franchise is set to open Nov. 2 at 11224 Huebner Road in the City View Village Shopping Center, and there are plans for a bevy of giveaways that make the grand-opening noteworthy.
The first 10 customers in line when doors open at 11 a.m., along with 10 other randomly chosen customers that will be notified via specially marked boxes, will receive “free pizza for a year.” Owner Ashley Andres said the prizes will be administered as 52 coupons for free 10-inch pies.
Every customer who goes to 1000 Degrees on opening day will be served up a freebie 10-inch pizza and can enjoy live music throughout the day and a free photo booth from Studio Benton Photography.
It’s all about options at 1000 Degrees, where patrons can get a 10-inch or 14-inch pizza with seven different meat options, 12 types of veggies and eight varieties of cheeses and sauces, all assembled in front of your eyes. Pizza crusts are a classic Neapolitan style or a Roman style that is a thicker variety that’s rolled out into more of a flatbread.
There also is a specialty menu with pizzas such as the Trenton Tomato Pie, Smokey Pollo and the Hawaiian Fire, made with a spicy sriracha marinara. All of the 10-inch pizzas will be sold for $10 or less. There aren’t any limits on the toppings for “build your own” pies, although it’s not recommended to go beyond five.
“The biggest draw is that customers can get in and out during a lunch break with a freshly made pizza,” Andres said. “ Ninety percent of our business will be build-your-own. It’s appealing, because as people go through the assembly line, they may say ‘You know, I’ve never had salami on a pizza … let’s try that.”
Everything is done out in the open, from the dough-making process to the pizza assembly line to the 7,000-pound, gas-fired brick oven centerpiece, which can hold up to 13 pizzas at a time and cook at that 1,000 degree namesake average.
Other menu items will include breadsticks, build-your-own salads, cinnamon sticks and oven-roasted chicken wings, as well as five varieties of draft beer and white wine.
The Huebner location will be 2,510 square feet with seating for 68 inside the pizzeria and 20 outside in a shaded outdoor patio area. Business hours will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
