At 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, the name says it all: customizable pizza cooked at a scorching temperature that’s ready to eat in two minutes.
San Antonio is about to get its first location of the blossoming franchise, with plans to open in mid-October at 11224 Huebner Road in the City View Villiage Shopping Center. It’s not the first ultra-fast pizza model to enter the San Antonio market, but it could be the fastest by a minute. MOD Pizza, which has three area locations and a fourth planned, says it can turn out pizzas from its 800-degree oven in about three minutes.
It’s all about options at 1000 Degrees, where patrons can get a 10-inch or 14-inch pizza with seven different meat options, 12 types of veggies and eight varieties of cheeses and sauces, all assembled in front of your eyes. Pizza crusts are a classic Neapolitan style, or a Roman style that is a thicker variety that’s rolled out into more of a flatbread.
There also is a specialty menu with pizzas such as the Trenton Tomato Pie, Smokey Pollo and the Hawaiian Fire, made with a spicy sriracha marinara. All of the pizzas will be sold for $10 or less. There aren’t any limits on the toppings for “build your own” pies, but owner Ashley Andres recommends going with no more than five to avoid the possibility of a sagging crust.
