New Jersey-based 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza opened its first Houston-area store last week directly across from the Johnson Space Center.

As the name implies, this fast-casual spot specializes in made-to-order Neapolitan pizzas, which can be personalized with any of more than 50 toppings for one flat price. The pizzas cook in a 1,000-degree, revolving brick oven.

Franchise owners Chris and Alice Chandler will open a second Houston-area 1000 Degrees in Deer Park this summer. 18032 Saturn Lane, 281-532-6877.

The newest entrant in the Bay Area market is 1000 Degrees, which has fired up the Neapolitan ovens in Cupertino at Homestead Square. It’s the first California location for the New Jersey-based pizzeria franchise chain.

At the grand opening celebration on Thursday, April 28, any guest will receive a free 10-inch pizza of their choice between the hours of 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. And the first 10 people through the door get pizza for a year.

1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza is offering free pizza for a year to the first 10 guests arriving Thursday to its Cupertino, California, restaurant, according to a company press release.

“We look forward to opening our doors in Cupertino,” said Kirk Satoh, one of three owners of the new Cupertino location. “We’re excited to introduce 1000 Degrees to California for the first time and share our love for pizza with the Silicon Valley area. 

In addition to the free pizza for a year, anyone who visits the Cupertino location, 20674 Homestead Road, between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. will receive a free 10-inch pizza of his choice. 

“1000 Degrees is on fire and we’re certainly heating up Cupertino with the opening of our first location in California,” said Brian Petruzzi, 1000 Degrees CEO and founder. “I’m confident that we serve the best hand-tossed Neapolitan pizza in the area and provide an unparalleled customer experience that will keep people coming back for more.”

The Cupertino 1000 Degrees is the first location in California and is owned by brother and sister duo, Juli and Kirk Satoh, as well as business partner Pankaj Patel. After working in the technology industry in Silicon Valley for most of their professional careers, Juli, Kirk, and Pankaj decided it was time to open their own business, and were attracted to 1000 Degrees due to the high quality of its ingredients.

Customizing a 1000 Degrees pizza is truly a unique experience, as guests can choose to top theirs with any of the more than 37 high quality cheeses, sauces, meats, vegetables, and other toppings all for one flat price. While choosing their toppings, customers are guided down an assembly line of pizza consultants to create a pizza that is totally unique to them.
